Abbott named to second team all area softball

Cox named honorable mention

Dawson County High School freshman softball pitcher and first baseman Jenna Abbott was named to the Gainesville Times All-Area second team last week.

  

Abbott finished the season with a .545 batting average with 27 RBI’s.

  

Abbott also connected for two homeruns on the season.

  

Dawson County High School senior Sydney Cox was named an honorable mention.

  

Dawson County completed the season with an 18-10 record.

  

Alysha Rudnik from Buford High School was named player-of-the-year by the Times. Rudnik, who has committed to Georgia Tech, batted .474 with seven homeruns.

  

Coach-of-the-Year was Warren Sellers from West Hall.
