It’s still three weeks until Christmas, but some kids got a jump start on their holiday wish-lists this year.

Like Malaya Brown, 5, of White County, who visited Santa in the food pavilion at the North Georgia Premium Outlets on Nov. 25.

Brown told Santa she wanted board games, a microphone and “big red Christmas boots.”

Mother, Ashley Brown, said the outlet mall Santa Claus is Malaya’s favorite.

“Every year, she comes to this Santa. He’s really good with kids,” Brown said.

Santa Claus spokesperson Irrel “Fuzzy” Finch of Dawson County said bringing happiness to children is St. Nick’s stock-in-trade.

According to Finch, Santa “enjoys seeing the joy on children’s faces and their parents’ faces ... seeing them enjoying themselves, that makes the job worthwhile.”

Finch said popular toys this year include mp3 players, dolls and choo-choo trains. “Old time toys are still popular,” Finch said. “It’s really amazing how those types of toys never seem to lose their magic.”

Finch said children for the most part have been nice, rather than naughty, this year. “Pretty much all of them tell me they’ve been good. Some of them say, ‘well, I try to be good.’ That’s OK, as long as they’re trying their best.”

Santa Claus will be at North Georgia Premium Outlets through Dec. 24. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Dec. 10; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 11-23; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 24.
