POSTED: November 24, 2009 5:11 p.m.

The Dawson County High School ninth grade boys team opened its season last Tuesday, Nov. 17 with a 57-18 win at Union County.

“Each time that our ninth grade boys played Union last year at both Riverview and Dawson Middle Schools in the eighth grade they lost,” said Head Ninth Grade Coach Corey Ray.

“We had a good game. I was really proud of the guys, they all contributed and had big nights,” he added.

Zach Martin led the Tigers in scoring with 12 points. Martin also pulled down seven rebounds.

Koby Rodgers had a great game at point guard scoring eight points and dishing out 10 assists.

Dawson also received production from Jeff Partington with nine points and four rebounds.

The Tigers will be in action on Thursday, Dec. 3 with a game at home against Woody Gap. Tip-off will be at 6 p.m.
