POSTED: November 17, 2009 4:00 p.m.

The Dawson Middle School eighth grade boys’ basketball team defeated Gilmer County 53-26 last Friday in Dawsonville.

It was the first game of the season for Coach Jonathan Tinsley’s team.

Dawson was up 23-19 at halftime. Tinsley made a few adjustments during halftime and outscored the Bobcats 30-7 in the final two quarters.

“We played really good, clean, basketball,” said Tinsley. “We rotated the ball really well and took good shots. We passed the ball really well also.”

Nine different Tigers scored in the contest.

Also contributing on the offensive end were: Caleb Stepp and Jackson Putnam with seven points each, Jonathan Sanderson, Cameron Millholand and Logan Burt with six points each, Chase Wilson with three points and Lucas Pain with two points.
