Preparations are underway for the third annual Lunch at an Artful Table fundraiser for the Dawson County Arts Council.

The luncheon, to be held at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at the Bowen Center for the Arts, will feature 15 elegantly dressed place settings decorated by teams within the community.

“Last year’s winners, the Gold Creek Ladies with their ‘Black Hat Society’ table will be trying to outdo themselves,” said Marcia Chelf, director of the Bowen Center for the Arts.

Folk art gallery Around Back at Rocky’s Place, interior designers White Interiors, and the Heart in Hand Quilt Guild are among the others planning to decorate tables.

The guild also donated a handmade quilt to  be raffled off at the luncheon.

Proceeds from the raffle and the luncheon benefit the arts council, which presents free visual arts displays at the center, provides classes and program for children and adults, including children’s theater and the adult chorale.

Tickets are still available for $25 by calling the arts council at (706) 216-2787 or by visiting the Bowen Center for Arts, located at 334 Hwy. 9 North in Dawsonville.

Ticket price includes lunch and dessert.
