Louis J. Marotti

Louis J. Marotti, 92, of Dawsonville, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at Crababble Hall in Alpharetta, following a period of declining health.

 

Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he had lived in Dawson County for the past six years having moved form Beverly Hills, Fla.

 

A member of the Catholic faith, he was an active volunteer in all aspects of service to the church, both in New York and in Florida.

 

He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Jean D. Marotti.

 

Survivors include his children, Jo Ann Johnston of Dawsonville; Carol and Art Gundersen of Peachtree City, Robert and Anna Marotti of Fairfield, Conn.; sister, Anne Zumbrunnen of Burnersville, Minn.; brother, Victor Marotti of Matawan, N.J.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral mass was held Saturday, Aug. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Redeemer Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Onyekuru officiating.

 

Mr. Marotti will then be taken to Beverly Hills, Fla., for entombment in Fero Memorial Gardens.

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
