Local graduates from academy

Jason M. Blackwell  recently graduated from the GPSTC Regional Police Academy in Athens.

  

Dep. Blackwell participated in the 10 week, 408 hour basic law enforcement training course as required by the Georgia Peace Office Standards and Training Council.

  

The course provides instruction in the areas of criminal justice, criminal law, constitutional law, community relations, modern police procedures, firearms (where Blackwell placed first), emergency vehicle operations and first-aid training.

  

The completion of the course represents the 231st session graduated by the academy.

  

Blackwell is currently employed with the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.
