Tiger JV team improves to 4-0

Kunkel pitches shutout

JV Lady Tiger pitcher Carly Kunkel pitched a shutout during a 7-0 win over East Jackson last Thursday.

The Dawson County High School Junior Varsity softball team continued its winning ways with a 7-0 defeat of East Jackson High School last Thursday.

  

With the win, Dawson is currently 4-0 on the season.

  

“We played a great game,” said Head Coach Nickie Rogers. “I think that we were errorless. We had timely hits and were aggressive base running.”

  

Carly Kunkel pitched a shutout for the Lady Tigers.

  

Offensively, Dawson was led by Taylor Shirley with a triple, Megan Matthews and Kenna Seitz both contributed with doubles.

  

Rogers remarked: “It was an all-around team effort.”

  

The team will play at North Oconee Thursday and host Oglethorpe County next Tuesday.

  

Both games will begin at 4:30 p.m.
