A Dawsonville man remains in custody after being arrested twice in three days for driving under the influence.

Robert Ashley Jordan is being held on $50,875 bond after the DUI arrests, his second and third of the year, according to court records.

Jordan, 40, was arrested July 23, just hours after he was released on a DUI charge from three days earlier, court records show.

According to jail records, Jordan was charged July 20 with DUI, open container, no proof of insurance, suspended registration and driving on a revoked license.

He was released from jail July 23 after posting $5,233 bond. That night, he was arrested at a traffic checkpoint.

The second arrest resulted in a DUI charge, no proof of insurance and driving on a revoked license.

Last week’s trouble marked Jordan’s third DUI charge in three months. He also was arrested on May 28.

“We take DUI offenses seriously,” said Lt. Tony Wooten of the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office. “We are out there doing what we can to keep the roads in Dawson County safe.”

According to authorities, Jordan’s driving history also includes DUI charges in March 2004 and May 2004.

“The arrests made on Jordan this year, previous to the most recent, were both through traffic stops,” Wooten said.
