Youth fast pitch softball returns

POSTED: August 17, 2008 5:03 a.m.

Dawson County Parks and Recreation has announced the return of fast pitch softball for the fall of 2008 for girls ages 7-14.

Registration will be held through Aug. 11 with walk-ins accepted at Rock Creek Park from Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Registration is also available online at www.dawsoncounty.org.

There will be no fee requirement during the registration period; however, completion of a registration form is required.

When enough players have confirmed their desire to play then teams will be formed.

Registration fee at that time will be $60 for in-county residents. An additional $20 will be tacked on for players living outside Dawson County.

Late registrations will not be accepted.

If less than three teams participate in each age group, it will be necessary to play in a neighboring league in Forsyth County.

This will involve travel to various Forsyth County parks.

All practices and all home games will be at Rock Creek Park.

For more information on league eligibility, visit www.dawsoncounty.org or call (706) 344-3646.
