Youth basketball camp set for August

Georgia Hoops for Youth will hold a basketball camp for girls and boys Aug. 3 through Aug. 6 at Rock Creek Sports Complex.

  

The camp will be run by Ray Porredon who has over 40 years of experience with the game of basketball.

  

Porredon has coached at the high school level and with the USA Basketball League.

  

The camp is open to all aspiring players ages 8 - 17 years.

  

Camp will begin each morning at 8:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m. each afternoon.

  

Emphasis will be placed on shooting, dribbling, fundamental drills, station work and a lot of scrimmaging.

  

Cost for all four days will be $100, or if a camper can’t attend everyday, it will be $35 per day.

  

Registration forms are available through Dawson County Parks and Recreation.
