Jay H. Pruett

Jay H. Pruett, 69, of Dawsonville, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009.

  

Born in Dawson County, he lived a number of years in Orlando, Fla., before returning to Dawson County 29 years ago.

  

Mr. Pruett retired from Northlake Construction Co. as a superintendent of commercial construction after over 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

  

His father, Edward Pruett, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his wife, Janet Pruett of Dawsonville; children, Jason and Heather Pruett of Cumming, Chris Pruett of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Devin Pruett, Miranda Pruett, both of Dahlonega, Hunter Pruett of Cumming; mother, Venitta Pruett of Dawsonville; sisters, Brenda Pruett, Faye Pruett, Sharon Pruett, Gail Walker, all of Dawsonville; brothers, James Pruett, Walter Pruett, both of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

  

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4 at McKees Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Sven Mossinger officiating.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
