Kathy U. Cowan

Kathy U. Cowan, 62, of Dawsonville, died Monday, May 25, 2009.

  

Born on Dec. 9, 1946 in Montreal, Canada, she had lived in Dawson County for over 10 years having moved from Dixon, Tenn.

  

Mrs. Cowan retired from management with Nortel Networks after over 20 years of service, after which, she was employed by Hewlett-Packard.

  

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church in Dahlonega and was active in community service. She volunteered with KARE for Kids and the Dawson County Mentoring Program.

  

Survivors include her husband, Don Cowan of Dawsonville; niece, Phebe Bentley of Canada; nephew, Danielli Bentley of Canada; various other relatives also survive.

  

At her request, Mrs. Cowan was cremated and no services are planned.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
