Dawson County High School Head Football Coach Jeff Lee will hold a girls speed and agility camp at Dawson County High School June 16-19. The camp will be for girls only and is designed to help female athletes to increase their ability to run, jump and help improve athletic quickness.
"We thought this was a great idea for our girl athletes that are getting ready to enter high school," said Lee. "It will give them a chance to use these techniques in order to improve these three vital areas: running, jumping and athletic quickness."
The camp is open to all girls in grades five through eight. "Each female will have the opportunity to train, in order to become quicker, faster and a more athletic player. The program is designed for any sport or type of athlete," remarked Lee.
The program is used by many high schools, including Dawson County High School, major college programs and by professional athletes. Participants will be trained in proper running form, how to increase flexibility and how five body mechanics can improve your speed and much more.
Equipment used in the camp will include bungees, quick foot ladders, resistance harnesses, Vertimax and much more.
The camp will be held at Dawson County High School's Tiger Stadium and Field House. Each day will begin at 9 a.m. and to will end at noon. Cost will be $75 per person. Each athlete will receive a camp T-shirt.
Water and Powerade will be provided to each camper.
Each camper should be dressed in appropriate athletic attire. Camp will be held rain or shine.
Lee would like any interested girl athlete to contact him at (706) 265-6555, Ext. 1405 or by e-mail at  HYPERLINK "mailto:jlee@dawson.k12.ga.us" jlee@dawson.k12.ga.us.
Any female that is interested should send a check made payable to: Tiger Speed Camp for $75 to:
Coach Jeff Lee
1665 Perimeter Road
Dawsonville, GA 30534
The registration form should include participants name, address, parent's phone numbers, and age of participant, also any sports that the athlete is involved in.
"This is a great opportunity for girl athletes in our community to get a jump start on the people around them. These techniques have been proven to work, and it will only make our young girls better," said Lee.
