Chestatee Golf Club holds Sunbelt Golf Tour

POSTED: April 29, 2009 8:00 a.m.

The Sunbelt Senior Golf Tour, which is the minor leagues of the Champions PGA Tour, will hold a 3-day tournament at Chestatee Golf Club in Dawsonville. The tournament runs through Friday.

Chestatee Sunbelt Senior Tour committee chairman Todd Willard anticipates seeing anywhere from 30-40 pros playing in the tournament, as well as 90-120 amateurs who will play along with the pros in today’s Pro-Am event.

Proceeds from the Pro-Am benefit the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund. Donations are tax deductible for all participants and contributors.

Willard said he would like the community to give its full support to the tournament. He states that this is possibly the only professional golf tour event to be held in North Georgia this year.

“We would love to have a great turnout of golf fans in general to watch these pros play, and there will be no admission charge to those wanting to watch the event,” said Willard.
