Billy Montgomery

Billy Montgomery, 80, of Gainesville, died Saturday, April 11, 2009.

  

Born in Duncan, Okla., Mr. Montgomery lived a short time in Savannah, Ga., before moving to Hall County in 1987.

  

He spent 23 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lt. Col.

  

He later owned and operated an appliance sales and service store in New Hampshire.

  

His wife, Maree Montgomery, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his daughters, Monica Carnes of Gainesville, Mauria Clark of Ft. Collins, Colo.; brother, Glenn Harold Montgomery of Modesto, Calif.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

The family will have an interment service at Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah at a later date.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
