Paul Louis Castell Jr.

POSTED: June 11, 2014 4:00 a.m.

Paul Louis Castell Jr., 17, of Dawsonville, died June 1, 2014.

Born in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Michelle Trabue Castell and Paul Lois Castell Sr., of Dawsonville.

Louis was a rising senior at North Forsyth High School.

A southern gentleman, he was a bright light, friendly and easy to love. He was an adventurer, skilled and eager to try new things, from hiking, traveling and boating, to hunting and fishing.

He played lacrosse and ran cross country. He raised goats and chickens, selling eggs to make money for his first boat.

He was fun and lively with infectious energy. He was a friend, even a brother, to all he met.

In addition to his dad, survivors include his sister, Lucy Michelle Castell of Dawsonville; grandparents, Jeanne Castell-Kozik and Walter Kozik of Atlanta, George and Mary Trabue of Kingsport, Tenn.; aunt, Jacqueline Shand of Big Canoe; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. June 5 at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family established a memorial fund at Regions Bank "Louis Castell Memorial Fund" to support the activities Louis enjoyed, including lacrosse.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
