Elsie Vivian Bruce

POSTED: May 20, 2014 4:00 a.m.

Elsie Vivian Bruce, 77, of Forsyth County, daughter of the late James Alvin Bentley and Ethel Electra Mahaffey Bentley, died May 18, 2014.

Vivian was born on July 29, 1936, in an ambulance on Marietta Street in Atlanta, en route to the hospital.

She was a talented and gifted singer and songwriter, having written thousands of songs and having some published. She was also a talented artist/painter.

She was a member of LeCaBru Ministries and was very instrumental in leading hundreds, if not thousands, of souls to the Lord.

After reading the entire Old and New Testament through a completion of eight times, she started on her ninth. Being the true prayer warrior that she is, she always made herself available 24/7 for anyone who needed prayer and ministry.

After being married to her husband, Marvin, for 40 years before he died, she never considered anyone else. As her testimony was, "I'm still married to Marvin, and always will be."

Her undying love was shown every day in being the best wife and mother.

In addition to her parents and husband; her oldest son, Marvin Luke Bruce, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Lester and Carolyn Bruce, Lesley and Daphne Bruce, Marilyn Bruce; grandchildren, Levi Bruce, Lee Bruce, Lucas Bruce, Llesley Bruce, Crystal Bruce Wofford, Josh Wofford; sisters and brother-in-law, Margie Jones, Sharon and James Archer; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at noon, May 22 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. May 21 at the funeral home.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
