POSTED: May 13, 2014 3:02 p.m.

Dawson County High School senior Dylan Forester finished in seventh place in the 3,200-meters at the state track meet held at Memorial Stadium in Jefferson last weekend.

Forester crossed the finish line with a time of 9:45.76.

He will continue his running career at Georgia Reagents College in Augusta next season.

The Tiger has had a great year with a second place finish at the Region 7-AAA cross country meet and a sixth place finish at the state cross country meet in Carrolton in the fall.

Winning the state championship in the 3,200-meters was Austin Sprague of St. Pius with a time of 9:17.30. Runner-up in the event was Matt Munns from Blessed Trinity.

Two North Hall runners rounded out the top four places. Zach Hill was third with teammate Quintin Miles following in fourth place.

The Dawson County track season has come to a close.
