Caldwell takes championship

Lady Tiger Madison Caldwell captured the Region 7-AAA golf championship with an 18-hole score of 72 at Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club in Gainesville last week.

Caldwell defended her region championship winning by 11 strokes over her next competitor, Candler Kimsey from White County.

Kimsey shot an 86.

Caldwell will now advance to the state golf tournament May 19 in Waynesboro.

White County captured the team championship with a total score of 269.

Buford finished in second place with a score of 275.

The Lady Tigers finished the tournament with a team score of 347.

Completing the event for Dawson County were: Hannah McConnell-131, Heather Hensley-144 and Tatum Pruitt-162.
