City of Dawsonville to hold week of events

POSTED: April 9, 2014 4:00 a.m.

The city of Dawsonville will be hosting a week of events as part of a statewide initiative to boost town tourism and appreciation.

April 13-19 has been designated as Georgia Cities Week, with the theme "People, Place and Purpose." The week is an opportunity to spotlight city government and what the city has to offer.

"Bring the whole family out for these great events to show off our city pride," said Dawsonville Mayor James Grogan. "Your participation will make this event successful. We look forward to seeing you here, [at the] city hall complex."

Dawsonville will be participating in the week-long event with banners in the downtown area, an "If I Were Mayor" writing contest, Dollar Lunch Day at city hall, Race Day at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and a city vehicle display.
