Gerda Houp

Gerda Houp, 80, of Dahlonega, died March 27, 2014.

Born May 19, 1933, in Rostock, Mecklenburg, Germany, she came to the United States in 1964 and had resided in North Georgia since 1999.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dahlonega Ward, she formerly worked as a nanny and owned and operated a sewing shop in Augusta.

Survivors include her brother, Bruno Luth of Unzeberg, Germany; and special friends, Lee and Ann Church of Dahlonega; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 29 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Bishop Robert Weischedel officiating. Interment followed in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
