James C. “Jake” Waits

James C. "Jake" Waits, 82, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 4, 2014.

Born Nov. 8, 1931 in Fulton County to the late Arthur and Rosella Waits, he had lived in Dawson County since 1979, having moved from Marietta. Along with his wife, they operated East Main Pawn in Dahlonega for 15 years.

His wife of more than 50 years, Imogene Waits, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Debbie Howell of Canton, Perry and Mary Anne Waits of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Lora Howell, Ashley and Brandon Wilson, Tyler Waits; great-grandsons, Alexander Christopher Wilson, Sean Wilson; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jackie Payne and Stan Lee officiating. Interment followed in Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
