ASK THE EXPERTS

A message to the superintendent

POSTED: February 5, 2014 8:23 a.m.

Thank you for your leadership in making the difficult decision to close school last week because of the weather.

As inconvenient as it is, and with the forecast being truly erratic at times, it is nearly impossible to predict what the patterns will be from one moment to the next. So often, and very fortunately, the warnings and advisory's come without a lot of mishap. I think this desensitizes our community and makes it easy to overlook what could be a truly hazardous condition.

I know I speak for so many in our community when I say we are thankful for you looking out for our children's safety. We appreciate the time and stress you put into making Dawson County a great place to live and raise our children.
