POSTED: November 26, 2013 3:32 p.m.

The Dawson County High School junior varsity boys basketball team lost a close game, 34-30, against visiting Pickens County Nov. 19.

Coach Wes Greer's Tigers missed several shots in the paint that led to the team's defeat.

Joseph Cronin led the Tigers in scoring with seven points.

"We struggled to score all night and missed too many easy buckets," Greer said. "I was proud of our effort, just not the outcome. We just have to keep working on making shots and cut down on turnovers."

Tigers scoring: Cronin, even points; Kolton Brumbelow, six points; Peyton Pruett, five points; Cameron Hudson, five points; Tyler Palmer, three points; Cole Mulberry, two points and Jeff Drew, two points:

The Tigers will be back in action at 4:15 p.m. Dec. 3 at home against Fannin County.
