ASK THE EXPERTS

Tigers to line up against Wolves

POSTED: October 15, 2013 5:20 p.m.

Dawson County High School head football coach Jeff Lee's team has a formidable task Friday night when the team will play host to Buford High School.

Buford is currently 6-0 and has been easily handling opponents, as witnessed by last week's 42-6 drubbing of White County.

Under Head Coach Jess Simpson, the Wolves have been averaging 52 points per game on offense, while giving up just four points on defense.

The Wolves have nine players that will continue their playing careers at a Division I school next season.

"Playing Buford will challenge our team to play its best on every play. For the senior who wants to get recognized by college recruiters, it is a great opportunity, as it helped one of our seniors last season by his performance in the Buford game to obtain a football scholarship," Lee said.

"For the underclassman who is trying to gauge his talent, playing Buford allows players to do that. We will continue to work on the things this week that will hopefully get us into the state playoffs. At this stage of the season, you look for steady improvement in your team."

Dawson County comes into the contest with a 4-2 record and is currently 2-1 in Region 7-AAA.

The game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Tigers Stadium.
