A carwash and pancake breakfast Saturday will benefit the family of a local girl who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

The event will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at New Life Church at 1508 Hwy. 53 East, Dawsonville.

Tickets are $5 and include the car wash and breakfast. There will also be a silent auction, eating contest and face painting, among other activities.

Proceeds will help with medical expenses for Olivia "Livi" Graham, a 5-year-old Dawson County girl who was diagnosed with the disease in May and is undergoing chemotherapy twice a week at Scottish Rite.

Since the treatments, Olivia's hair has started to fall out.

Her mother, Maggie Graham, said, "It was a sign that it was real."

She recently left her job to stay home with her daughter. With only one parent working it has put a financial strain on the family.

Maggie Graham said she is thankful for the generosity and help that they get from their family, friends, First Baptist Church of Dawsonville and just the community in general.

For more information on the event, call (706) 344-8457 or (770) 231-3245.

Donations can also be made to the family at www.gofundme.com/oliviasfight.
