A Riverdale man who led deputies on a chase through two counties earlier this month faces nearly a dozen local charges involving credit card fraud.

Mamadou Diallo, 28, was taken into Dawson County custody Friday following his arrest July 12 in Forsyth County.

He is being held at the Dawson County Detention Center, where his bond has been set at $80,200, according to jail records.

Diallo faces nine counts of forgery of financial transaction card and a single count of criminal attempt. All of the charges are felonies.

Dawson County Sheriff's Maj. Tony Wooten described Daillo's alleged scheme, which involved removing the magnetic strip from one credit card and putting it on another, as "elaborate."

"The case remains under investigation and additional charges could follow," he said.

He also faces a litany of traffic violations resulting from the July 12 chase in Dawson and Forsyth counties.

Diallo fled when Dawson County Sheriff's deputies attempted to stop him on suspicion of a fraudulent credit card activity at a drug store near the North Georgia Premium Outlets.

The chase started about 7:45 p.m. and continued south down Ga. 400 into north Forsyth, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Josh Hedden.

The state patrol and Forsyth County Sheriff's Office picked up the pursuit at Bottoms Road, where Diallo crossed the median and headed south in the northbound lanes of Ga. 400, Hedden said.

At the intersection of Martin Road, Diallo swerved back to the southbound side of the corridor.

About 8:05 p.m., Hedden stopped the car with a pit maneuver just north of Hwy. 369.
