Sue Mooney

Sue Mooney, 73, of Cumming, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee, following a sudden illness.

A native of Dawson County, she had been living in Cumming for the past 16 years. Mrs. Mooney was a homemaker and a member of Winters Chapel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. "Snake" Mooney; daughter, Connie Grindle; parents, Herbert and Cleo Gilleland; brother, Herbert Gilleland, Jr.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sylvia Mooney of Augusta, Randy and Lisa Mooney of Sparta; stepson and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Pam Mooney of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Harriett Gilleland of Dawsonville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were Wednesday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hugh Fields officiating. Interment followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
