James E. Lawhorn, Sr.

James E. Lawhorn, Sr., 59, of Sparta, formerly of Cumming, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Evelyn Lawhorn; brothers, Joe Lawhorn and Carl Lawhorn.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lawhorn of Sparta; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and David Roland of Dawsonville; son, James E. Lawhorn, Jr. of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Dillon Waltzer, Sarah Roland and Kevin Good Lawhorn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Lawhorn of Meansville, Chester Lawhorn of Woodbury, Steve and Golden Lawhorn of Cumming, Hilton and Trilla Lawhorn of Roswell, Maye Lawhorn of Arcadia, Ind.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Cahill of Arcadia, Ind., Jeanette and Bob Sakala of Northglenn, Colo., Linda and Terry Cripe of Chula Vista, Calif., Gracie and Harold McDaniel of Dawsonville, Laverne and Vincent Frymeyer of Woodstock; mother-in-law, Wanda Scruggs of Dawsonville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Melanie and David Keith Hodges, Daniel and Cindy Scruggs, all of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 10 at 1 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Hewitt officiating. Interment followed at Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery in Dawsonville.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
