Dawson County High School Junior Varsity Coach Wes Greer and his basketball team lost a heartbreaker Saturday to visiting North Forsyth by a 35-33 score.

Earlier in the week, Greer and his troops picked up two big wins with a 34-28 win over Fannin County Tuesday and a big 45-37 victory over Riverside Military Academy Friday.

With the two wins and a loss Dawson currently stands at an even 7-7 on the season.

This week, the Tigers will host Union County on Friday with tip-off set for around 5:15 p.m.

Dalton McDaniel led all Tiger scorers against Fannin in Blue Ridge last Tuesday.

McDaniel finished the game with 13 points. Tiger Neal Little also played well offensively, contributing six points by nailing two long three point shots.

Also scoring for Dawson were: Logan Lewis with nine points and Jake Baudin with six points.

Friday, the JV Tigers played host to Riverside Military Academy.

The Tigers never trailed, cruising to an eight point win.

McDaniel had another big night offensively with 16 points to lead Dawson County.

Also scoring were: Tyler King-6; Neal Little-5; Logan Lewis-5; Roman Stroud-4; Levi Wilson-3; Jake Baudin-2; and Grant Shope with 2 points.

Against AAAAA opponent North Forsyth the Tigers led for the first three quarters.

Dawson seemed to have the game in hand with a 27-22 advantage as the third quarter buzzer sounded.

The Raiders picked up the defensive pressure and allowed Dawson only six points in the final period, while scoring 13 points. The Raiders hit a shot with only 1.3 seconds remaining to escape with the victory.

Matt Oldham led North Forsyth with 15 points.

For the Tigers, Logan Lewis led the offense with eight points. The scoring was spread out as seven different Tigers scored.

Also scoring for Dawson were: Dalton McDaniel-7; Tyler King-5; Grant Shope-4; Levi Wilson-4; Roman Stroud-3 and Stephen Johnson-2.
