Frank E. Slaton

Frank E. Slaton, 78, of Flowery Branch, died Nov. 14, 2012.

Born July 20, 1934, in Dawson County, to the late Thomas and Mertie Slaton, he had lived in Flowery Branch since 1995, having moved from Forsyth County.

Mr. Slaton was a retired residential building contractor and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Several sisters and brothers also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Jenny and Mark Meade, Jerry and Marsha Welch, Leslie Slaton, all of Cumming, Lisa and Dell Smith of Flowery Branch, Diane Parker of Tennessee; sister, Freddie Nell Jackson of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, George and Coleen Slaton of Dawsonville; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 16 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
