The Class AAA No. 4 ranked Lady Tiger soccer team picked up two big wins last week.

Dawson County defeated Lakeview Academy, 7-0, on April 10, and followed with a big 5-0 Region 7-AAA win over East Hall on Friday.

Wednesday's game also was Senior Night for the Lady Tigers and the team came out of the locker room with a roar.

Dawson County opened up a 2-0 lead three minutes into the game on goals by McKay Shively. Both were off passes from Emily Queen.

With two minutes left in the half, Dawson County scored another goal by freshman Isabella Elliott, her fourth goal of the season.

The Lady Tigers held a comfortable 3-0 halftime lead.

Dawson County scored quickly and often to begin the second half.

The Lady Tigers added four goals in a span of 14 minutes to pick up the team's 10th win of the season.

Scoring for the Lady Tigers were Queen, Riley Cox, Shively (hat trick) and Taylor Bennett.

It was Shively's eighth goal of the season.

"McKay Shively is coming into her own this year and with switching positions from forward to outside mid after leading this team in scoring last year with 20 goals. McKay was so unselfish switching from a glamour position to a work dog position and not questioning the move after I explained what it would do for the team," Lacey said.

Goalie Kenna Seitz picked up her fourth shutout of the season.

Head Coach Jed Lacey honored his only two seniors, Jade Perry and Seitz, after the game.

Friday the team played host to East Hall.

Once again the Lady Tigers were hitting on all cylinders and established an early 2-0 lead after less than eight minutes.

Scoring goals were Queen and fellow freshman Tina Libao.

Libao's goal came off a corner kick that bent into the Lady Vikings net.

The goal was Libao's 13th of the season.

The Lady Tigers added another goal at 19:27 off the foot of Bennett. It was Bennett's sixth goal this season.

Queen and Shively added second half goals to give Dawson County the 5-0 victory.

The win moved the Lady Tigers to 3-0 on the seasonin region play. Overall Lacey's team is currently 11-1.

Seitz picked up her fifth shutout in goal.

"This was a very good week overall. We had two big shutouts and one of them was a region win over East Hall. I think we are getting close to hitting on all cylinders. Being such a young team we have moved players around trying them in different positions to see what combinations work the best and we are about there," Lacey said.

The Lady Tigers will travel to Banks County on Friday for another region game before playing No. 2 ranked Buford on Monday and North Hall on Tuesday of next week.
