ASK THE EXPERTS

Ghost hunter to speak at library

POSTED: January 28, 2009 4:00 a.m.

If there’s something strange in the neighborhood, who you gonna call?

The answer: The Georgia Ghost Society.

Join Robert Hunnicutt, director of the Georgia Ghost Society, at 4 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Dawson County Public Library, as he talks about his work as a paranormal investigator.

He will be showing equipment that he uses when investigating and researching paranormal activity, as well as sharing some of the research which he is currently conducting.

Hunnicutt started his journey in ghosts and hauntings after he experienced a ghostly encounter in an Arizona theater more than 30 years ago.

He has investigated some of the South’s most haunted and historic locations, including: The Read House Hotel in Chattanooga, Tenn., Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Louisville, Ky., Brenau University’s Pearce Auditorium in Gainesville and The Pirate’s House Restaurant and Moon River Brewery in Savannah.

In the spring of 2008, Hunnicutt was named one of the Top Ten Paranormal Ghost Investigators In America by Haunted Tours of America.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, The Georgia Ghost Society prides itself on “Investigating things that go bump in the night.”

The Georgia Ghost Society is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing the best in paranormal investigative services using the latest in scientific equipment and protocols.

The organization follows five key elements in which they strive to best serve, including: conducting authentic ghost research, scientific investigation/documentation of various types of phenomena, promotion of Georgia’s vast haunted historical landmarks, offering assistance to anyone experiencing a haunting and providing services in a professional manner at no charge.

The event will be free and open to the public, all ages welcome.
