James Dennis Hughes

James Dennis Hughes, 79, of Chamblee, died Aug. 20, 2012.

Born Oct. 8, 1932, to the late Hubert and Era Hughes, he was a resident of Dawsonville until moving to Chamblee in 1954.

A loving husband and father, Mr. Hughes worked as a manager at the S&W Cafeteria in Atlanta for 30 years.

His wife, Faye Hughes; and a brother, Lamar Hughes, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, David and Cathy Hughes of Gainesville, Kathi and Rick Van Ordstrand of Virginia, Irene Daniels of Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Loy and Ann Hughes of Lilburn, Douglas and Shirley Hughes of Dahlonega; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 24 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joey Gilbert officiating. Interment followed in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
