Doughnut sales to fight cancer

POSTED: February 20, 2013 4:00 a.m.

The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce's Ambassador's Relay for Life team is selling doughnuts in the hopes of raising funds for the fight against cancer.

The team, whose motto is "Wishing Upon a Cure" is currently selling preorders for Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

"Each team member is very passionate about the cause and has their own reason to Relay," said Kara Hewatt, chamber of commerce membership director and team member. "The doughnut fundraiser is just one of several creative efforts to help us reach, and hopefully exceed, the $3,000 goal set by the team."

Boxes are $7 each and will be delivered "hot and fresh in the morning on March 1.

"Who doesn't love an excuse to help a great cause and enjoy delicious doughnuts at the same time?" Hewatt said.

To place an order for doughnuts to benefit Relay for Life, call (706) 265-6278.
