Edna Mae Thompson, 87, of Marietta, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009.

  

Mrs. Thompson was born and raised in Dawson County and went to Cobb County in 1960.

  

She retired from Food Giant Grocery Stores after 20 years of service.

  

Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta.

  

Survivors include her daughter, Joan Thompson of Roswell; son, Joe D. Thompson of Marietta; four grandchildren, Scott Housley, Lori Housley Goranovic, Dr. Michael Thompson, David Thompson; various other relatives also survive.

  

Services will be private.

  

Contributions may be made to the Roswell Street Baptist Church, 774 Roswell Street, Marietta, GA 30060.

  

Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory of Marietta is in charge of the arrangements.
