Tommy Davis

Tommy Davis, 79, of Dahlonega, died Jan. 22, 2013.

Born June 15, 1933, to the late Charles and Bertha Davis, he had been a resident of the Dawson/Lumpkin County area for most of his life.

Mr. Davis was of the Baptist faith and worked as a logger for many years.

His wife, Lucille Davis; grandson, Tommy Dean Davis and sister, Ollie Pruitt, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Mary L. Davis, Tommy "Buckwheat" and Darlene Davis, all of Dahlonega, Isabell and Ronald Harris of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Fannie and Frank Whitaker of Jasper; grandchildren, Tiffany Pape, Kenith Davis, Samantha Davis, Skylar Davis, Troy Lowe, Rachel Cravens, Tonya Harris; two great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charlie Buchanan, Joseph Simmons and Josh Mulkey officiating. Interment followed in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
