Eugene "Gene" Evans

Eugene "Gene" Evans, 74, of Dawsonville, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009.

  

A lifelong resident of Dawson County, Mr. Evans retired after many years in the pulpwood business. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Evans; parents, Guy and Ida Evans; sisters, Eva Mae Grindle and Voncell Evans.

  

Survivors include his brother, G.W. Evans of Dawsonville; several nieces and nephews; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wilbert Graham officiating. Interment followed in Moss Memorial Gardens.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
