William A. Porter

William A. Porter, 89, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 18, 2012.

Born Jan. 23, 1923, in Buford to the late Herbert and Lena Porter, he had lived in Dawson County since 1993.

Mr. Porter was a retired poultry farmer and was a member of the Murrayville Baptist Church.

His wife, Joann Porter; son, William "Billy" Porter; and four sisters, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Ruth A. Porter of Dawsonville; special friends, Rex, Kim and Benji Hamby, Paul and Kristen Cloud, Clay and Rebecca Cloud and Bayleigh Cloud; various other relatives also survive.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Murrayville Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Allison officiating.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
