Marcus Sams

Marcus Sams, 64, of Cumming, died Nov. 2, 2012.

Marcus was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church and was retired from the City of Cumming after 35 years of service.

Marcus was affectionately known as "Gooney" by his loved ones.

His parents, Albert and Ruby Sams; four brothers and 1 sister, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Charles Lackey of Dawsonville; twin brother, Jimmy Sams of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Tommy Dodd of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, George and Brenda Sams of Cumming; sister-in-law, Martha Sams; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Nov. 11 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Craig Richard, Lamar Day and Nick Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Crest Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3256, Cumming, GA 30028.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming is in charge of the arrangements.
