Leila B. Hammond

Leila B. Hammond, 68, of Commerce, died Oct. 28, 2012.

Born March 1, 1944 in Dawson County to the late Toy and Carrie Nell Bishop, she lived a number of years in Marietta and Homer.

Leila was formerly employed by the Georgia Game and Fish Commission and was a member of Homer Alliance Church.

Her brothers, Everette Bishop, Paul Bishop and Robert "Buddy" Bishop, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and William "Bill" Newman of Palm Coast, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Cathy Bishop of Commerce; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 31 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Dave Cornelius and the Missionary James Joransen officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
