Forester claims title

Tiger Dylan Forester captured the individual title at the sixth annual Buford Invitational cross country meet Oct. 10.

Forester finished the 3.1-mile course with a time of 17:24, 8 seconds faster than runner-up, Max Warner, from Forsyth Central High School.

Chris Bywaletz also had a great race. He covered the course with a time of 18:28, good for a 10th place finish.

There were 83 runners in the race, representing nine different high schools.

Avery Cowart (19:06), Jake Hafermalz (19:27), Jake Booth (20:18), Mason Carr (20:18), Garrette Carlisle (20:38), Nathan Shelp (21:17), Drew Keller (21:19), Ben Drew (21:39) and Brandon Barker (21:40) also competed for Dawson County.

Cowart, Booth, Carr and Carlisle each attained a personal record time.

The team finished in fourth place overall, with 105 points.

Winning the team championship was Lovett High School with 77 points.

Dawson County will run tomorrow at the Bob Roller Invitational at East Jackson High School.
