Mary Frances Farr Plunkett

Mary Frances Farr Plunkett, 97, died Sept. 21, 2012.

She was born in Asheville, N.C. and moved to Atlanta to attend Agnes Scott College.

After graduating she went on to obtain master's degrees from West Georgia College and Georgia State College.

She spent 25 years teaching in the Fulton County and Rockdale County school systems.

Her husband, L. Carl Plunkett Sr. and a daughter, Sue Plunkett Jones, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, L. Carl Plunkett Jr. of Atlanta; daughter, Sandra Plunkett Williams of Dawsonville; sister, Elizabeth Farr McNairy of Glensfalls, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

At her request, Mrs. Plunkett was cremated.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
