Basketball teams to play at Philips Arena

POSTED: September 25, 2012 4:30 p.m.

Dawson County High School varsity basketball coaches Thad Burgess and Steve Sweat recently announced that both the boys and girls varsity teams will play a game at Philips Arena during the upcoming season.

The Tigers will take on Rabun County on Jan. 19 in Atlanta.

The game will be played just before the Atlanta Hawks take on the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs have two potential Hall of Fame players in Tim Duncan and Tony Parker.

Tickets for the game will be $30 and include admission to both high school games and a ticket for the Hawks game.

The tickets also include all-you-can-eat popcorn and soft drinks.

Times for the games have yet to be announced.

For more information, contact Burgess at (706) 265-6555.
