Girls looking for first win

POSTED: September 19, 2012 4:00 a.m.

The Dawson County Middle School softball team is still looking for its first win of the season. The Lady Tigers dropped two games last week. One to Fannin, 10-1, on Tuesday and to Pickens, 11-3, on Friday.

Natalie Glass was the highlight of the Fannin game. She hit a triple.

"We just didn't have our heads in the game," said head coach Jessi Crane. "We just made too many errors."

Against the Dragonettes on Friday, Glass added a single on offense.

Kayleigh Davenport singled in two runs with a triple.

"Our girls looked a million times better today. We had one bad inning that hurt. Over all our offense was so much better. We played a great defensive game and had some good innings," she said.

Up next for the Lady Tigers will be rival Riverview Middle School on Friday at home.

First pitch will be at 4:30 p.m.
