Walter "Lewie" Thaxton, 42, of Jasper, died Aug. 30, 2012.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Thaxton; daughters, Amanda Thaxton, Emily Thaxton, both of Dawsonville, Courtney Thaxton of Dahlonega; brothers, Johnny Thaxton of Virginia, Gary and Leonard Thaxton of Cumming, Rande Thaxton of Canton; sisters, Juanita Earnhardt of Marietta, Judy Pruitt of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Alpharetta City Cemetery.

Byars Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
