Gloria Peace “GoGo Peachtree” Schaefer

Gloria Peace "GoGo Peachtree" Schaefer, 81, of Big Canoe, died Aug. 19, 2012.

Gloria was retired when she moved to Big Canoe, but quickly joined her husband who was a bus driver for special needs children of Pickens County, as a volunteer.

She loved helping the children, but more importantly, she wanted to be by the side of her best friend and husband every moment of each day.

Survivors include her son, George James Schaefer Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Walter Ebinger; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Carol Schaefer; grandchildren, Maryann Marcey, Jessica Schaefer, Christine Stamps, Steve Schaefer, Allie Schaefer, Michael Anderson, Donnie Cornman; great-grandchildren, Corey Marcey, Abby Stamps, Camden Ward, Cody Ward; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Aug. 23 in the Big Canoe Chapel.

Medford-Peden Funeral Home and Crematory of Marietta was in charge of the arrangements.
