A Forsyth County teenager was injured in a single-vehicle wreck Monday afternoon in Dawson County.

A Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman said the 16-year-old driver was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta with what were described as non-fatal injuries.

According to the state patrol, the wreck occurred about 1:15 p.m. when the Chevrolet Trailblazer the teen was driving left Hwy. 9 near Jewell Slaton Road and struck a ditch and mailbox.

The teen, who the spokeswoman said was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle as it overturned.

She added that alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors in the crash.
