Kathie “Grannie” Weaver

Kathie "Grannie" Weaver, 62, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 6, 2012.

Born Oct. 4, 1949, in New Brunswick, N.J. to the late Louis and Dorothy Weaver, she had lived in Dawson County for the past few weeks, having moved from Stephens County. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she had almost completed an associate's degree in criminal justice with the University of Phoenix.

She was planning to enter the mission field through Amicore.

She was a member of The Rock of Habersham.

Survivors include her children, Jessica Hart and James Bender of Dawsonville, Rebecca and Scott Burnet of Martin, John Hart Jr. and Belinda Cheshire of Buckeye, Ariz., Katherine and Andrew Ramirez of Hamilton, Ala., Christine and Bobby Castalina of San Antonio, Texas, Chris Haney of Bronson, Fla.; sister, Anita Weaver of Butte, Mon.; brother, Fred Weaver of Florida; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

A gathering of remembrance was held from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 11 at The Rock of Habersham (Rock 2) Building. Special prayers were offered by the Pastor Robin Martin at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 12 during the church service in the main sanctuary.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
